Essay for Dictatorship, Martial Law and EDSA People Power:

Ferdinand Edralin Marcos (1917-1989), president-dictator of the Republic of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986. Marcos twice elected as our president in the Republic of the Philippines before he declared Martial law and seized dictatorship in 1972. Our country claiming anarchy was near, Marcos declared Martial law in 1972, thereby suspending the 1935 constitution dissolving Congress, and assuming total power.
During the time of dictatorship only the president command is the voice of the Filipino people. We don’t have a freedom of expression. What the president want, president get. All the military people are under the command of the president. Then Martial law time comes that no people allowed outside the street past 7 in the evening. The military will pick you up and bring in the prison.
No one could do what they wanted to do reach or poor.Only the president and his army and family. Senator Benigno Aquino and his company fight the rights of our Filipino people that’s why they get in prison. He flew out the country and during his returned he got killed. Due to his death his wife late president Corazon C. Aquino and late Cardinal Sin lead a massive nonviolent protest known as the People Power Movement. It is the move to force President Marcos to stepped out from office.

His authoritarian regime is remembered for its rampant corruption at the highest level of government and its suppression of political dissent and the democratic process.
